Ford Powell, who was a member of the baseball team
in South Hope, in the 1960's, donated his number
10 shirt to the HHS. He reports that an all you could eat lobster stew dinner
was held at the South Hope
Grange Hall, it was served by the members of the team to earn money to
purchase uniforms. Enough
money was raised in one night to buy full uniforms from Haskell and Corthell
in Camden, ME. This
process was also confirmed by, Ned Berry who was the Manager of the team.Additional
information,
would be greatly appreciated.
Some of the members were: Red Merrifield---- Pitcher,
Vern Berry----Catcher, Glen Berry----First Base,
