The meeting was called to order by Vice President, Cynthia DellaPenna at 9:30 A.M. Those attending
were Bill Jones, Bob Appleby, Gwen Brodis, Ann Leadbetter, Nancy Ford, Barbara Ludwig, Cindy DellaPenna,
Juanita Hunt, Emily Saladino, Donovan Bowley, Linda Hillgrove and guest, Janice Baxstrom. This was our
day trip meeting to Amy Wilton’s Photographic Studio in Hope.

SECRETARY’S REPORT: Secretary, Linda Hillgrove, summarized the Minutes for June 19, 2018 which was
unanimously accepted.

TREASURER’S REPORT: Treasurer, Gwen Brodis, reported a Balance in Savings of $15,168.48; and Balance
in Checking of $521.27 which was unanimously accepted. A motion was made and accepted to pay for the
building insurance annually.

OLD BUSINESS: Cynthia DellaPenna brought in sleigh bells which she purchased through eBay. The original
sleigh bells were found buried on the old William Light farm, which they owned on Route 235 in Hope in the
1980s. These bells disintegrated after exposure to the atmosphere. Cindy is adding the sleigh bell to the
Traveling Trunk with a history of how they were attached to sleigh harnesses to alert pedestrians and other
travelers of their presence.

Emily Saladino suggested advertising with posters or newspaper articles to inform the public about the
Chest which will be sent to schools to educate children about articles used in the past which they can observe
and read about as well as handle. We voted to proceed with meeting the need to fill the chest.

BUILDING REPORT: Volunteers for Spring Cleanup are needed. The new window frames need painting and
some need repainting. There is wallpaper which needs to be repasted.

PROGRAM CHAIR: Program Chair, Ann Leadbetter, announced the speaker for the August 21st meeting will
be David Smith. He will discuss production of maple syrup.

Some refreshments were furnished by Ann Leadbetter, and Gwen Brodis.

Respectfully Submitted,

Linda Hillgrove, Secretary
